Doing Our Part

The Empire Prairie Wind & Solar Projects believe that a successful energy project is one that strengthens the community.

King City R-1 School District

Our donation to King City R-1 schools helped fund new band uniforms for students who had previously marched in t-shirts and jeans. These students can now proudly represent their school and community with newfound confidence.

“We are able to update our facilities. We are more likely to be able to stay here and not face the challenge of having to send our students on bus rides to co-op with other schools.”

Kelsey Willis

Teacher, King City R-1 School District

“The support from the wind farms have helped many small communities and small school districts be able to survive and thrive when they might not have been able to otherwise.”

“ENGIE showing their presence through donations to our school and community allows people to see, hey, this is not just a windmill, this is an investment into our school.”

“We received donations from the wind farm and now we won’t have to fundraise at all for uniforms. So we can use our funds for instruments and other things like that.”

Helena Elementary School - Helena, Missouri

The Projects contributed to a new playground fund at Helena Elementary School, helping to give local kids a safe, modern space to play and grow. Investing in young people today means a stronger community tomorrow.

DeKalb County Senior Center - Maysville, Missouri

The Empire Prairie Wind & Solar Projects were proud to donate to the DeKalb County Senior Center, supporting the seniors of DeKalb County who have built this community over generations. This funding will directly support the center’s home-delivered meal program, helping ensure more seniors receive nutritious meals, and to enhance the center’s social engagement activities and health-focused programming.

Cameron Veterans Assistance League - Cameron, Missouri

As part of the Empire Prairie Wind and Solar Project's community giving program, ENGIE was pleased to sponsor the NW Patriot Ride, an annual fundraising event benefiting the Cameron Veterans Assistance League, in Cameron, Missouri. The organization works to help veterans residing at the local Veterans Home by providing resources and services that may not otherwise be available through traditional funding methods.

We are grateful to the organizers, volunteers, and community members whose efforts continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local veterans.

Union Star School District

The Empire Prairie Wind & Solar Projects donated funds to purchase new band uniforms at Union Star School, helping students take the field with both style and pride. We believe that this kind of investment is vital to ensuring that arts programs remain strong in rural communities.

“When I first started here as the principal, we just didn’t have the available resources financially to buy everything we needed. Wind towers started coming in and we started getting those tax revenues. It’s been an excellent thing for our school.”

Rick Calloway

Superintendent, Union Star School District

“If something were to happen and the wind energy went away, if we lost that much of our local money – there would be a major change. We would probably have to cut several programs. Staffing. We would either lose some things or we’d have to go to the voters and ask them to raise their personal property taxes.”

Andrew County Foundation

Empire Prairie Wind & Solar awarded a $10,000 grant to the Andrew County Foundation in support of its scholarship program, helping local high school graduates pursue college and trade school opportunities. For communities like those in Northwest Missouri, access to higher education and technical training is a pathway to a stronger future, and Empire Prairie is proud to help open that door.

"Many of our rural school districts have closed or will close because they don’t have the tax base there any longer. By ENGIE coming in, this helps us take care of our own."
